My background
Before I turned thirty, I was already leading a team at an Italian IT company — a cultural shock for someone as down‑to‑earth as a Frisian.
Since then, I’ve spent more than twenty years working across public and private organizations, both in the Netherlands and internationally. Often with people who were expected to change because someone else decided they should — not because they wanted to themselves.
That mix of sectors and cultures is exactly what I now draw on as a coach. I’ve seen how differently organizations treat their people, which helps me quickly recognize where things get stuck — whether in a government institution or a global multinational.
Lasting change takes time, attention, and perseverance — much like training for a marathon. Different passion, same principle: performing at your best, with tailored training that fits your needs.
How Anderz-om coaching was founded
My company grew out of a personal need for a different kind of coaching. For years, I sensed that something in the way I worked and made decisions didn’t align — often as a subtle, uneasy feeling that didn’t match what I could rationally explain.
About fifteen years ago, a colleague introduced me to the poem Ithaka by Kavafis. It struck a chord and set a discovery process in motion: how can I work and live with confidence in my own abilities, without the fear of making the wrong choices?
That search eventually became the foundation of AnderZ‑Om.
The journey wasn’t effortless. I learned how valuable it is to have a coach who helps you find your own answers. My first step was at Move a Mountain, although I didn’t fully realize it at the time. Later, across different organizations, I saw how many people feel stuck or uncertain — and how honest, sharp questions can already create space for change.
The training I completed at De Omslag Maken helped more pieces fall into place. From that experience, I decided to use this approach as the foundation for AnderZ‑Om.
What started as a personal need grew into a company with a clear vision: guiding change processes in a way that works — practical, honest, and grounded in trust in your own strength.
